Verizon FiOS media manager for OS X

I was excited to see a Verizon FiOS Media Manager desktop client for OS X to access photos and music on my wife's laptop (as long as we're connected to the FiOS router directly wirelessly and not another access point). I fired it up, jumped on the FiOS router, and there was all my wife's content on the set top box.
I tried playing a track, and the media manager crashed (laptop) and then immediately the set top box itself borked and rebooted. Reboot took a while. It's done this a few times now. It looks like it's not ready for prime time, but I'm glad it's out there at all.
