Simple Analog 1.6 submitted

September 7, 2011

I haven't been paying enough attention around here, but I still kind of dig the retro look I made long ago. I have submitted Analog 1.6 to the iTunes App Store because a user (Nik) wanted the application to remember what state the clock face was in when quit. So that's the change here. It was good to submit, because my Distribution license had expired and I needed to update my Xcode with the new stuff. I had to do this to an old version of Xcode too. All is good and I hope it's approved soon. I added so little so I can't imagine much of a wait at all.

I should get out my broom and dust some things off around here too.

 Simple Calendar approved

January 7, 2010

I just got my confirmation email that Simple Calendar has been approved for the App Store. Give it about 24 hours or so before you can actually get it.

 New application underway

January 6, 2010

I have been busy learning various things on the iPhone and recently started playing with puttin g many of the things together. The latest has been webservices and XML parsing. You might not care about that, but how about putting a month calendar together, with an analog clock, and weather conditions/forecasts for your US-based zuipcode? A settings view too to control everything, stored for persistence. It's coming along pretty well and I might throw a few more features in there. The design looks pretty juicy so far.

 Simple Analog Update

January 5, 2010

I've just submitted an update for review to bring Simple Analog up to 1.1. I've added a settings menu you can use to prevent the device from sleeping (screen darkening and then standby). This is good if you've got the device docked or you're not too worried about the extra power it will drain from your batteries.

I have also added a feature where you can tap the bottom to cycle between a simple date view or a current month view. The current month view highlights the current day and also shows you which days are Saturdays and Sundays.

 Simple Calendar

January 4, 2010

I've just submitted a little app I wrote that displays the year in context. The current day is displayed and highlighted, as well as the current month. If someone asks you if a date falls which day, you can quickly respond. Would you like to tap a month to see events for it? I'm thinking about it.

FrogTap

I developed a fun game for my son not too long ago, and while it was cute and he enjoyed it, it was never fully realized. Since then I have learned quite a bit about Objective-C, the frameworks, and views in general.

This will allow me to better create a game that others might find to be fun too. So when I have some free time, I'll re-create the game. I had fun making it last time, it should go a lot smoother this time through.

An expanded Simple Analog planned

While the Simple Analog application works, it's drop dead simple. You may want alarms, a way to defeat the inactive timeout while docked, toggling between analog and digital, toggling the seconds hand on or off, a calendar, landscape orientation support, and more.

Those are some of the features I am thinking about for a modified, more feature-rich version of the application.

Simple Analog has been successfully submitted to the App Store

I finally successfuly submitted Simple Analog to the iTunes Store. Since it's so simple I expect a fairly quick approval for your download and use.

You'll be able to get some support if you need it here as well as find out more about other applications that are in the works.
