If anyone really cares. My current podcasting setup is comprised mainly of Macintosh computers. I predominantly use a MacPro and Garageband for the recording and editing of my main source.
I used to use a USB headset with boom microphone, but quickly found out that my setup produced audible pops and hisses at random times.
Instead of cleaning the audio (I already lack a decent amount of time to produce them anyway), I decided to use the iSight camera that I have on top of my Cinema Display.
The audio is quite clean, and the new audio filters for the mic in Garageband are really quite good. Generally I do not edit out any flubs or stutters, I believe thats part of what make podcasts more real and listenable.
Sure, one could polish their recording to sound quite professional, but then it seems to lack some of that approachability that the casualness of podcasting brings.
