I usually beat Microsoft down, and their Messenger app is pretty solid, although I had to turn off all those tabs. Anyway, you can hack your Messenger into something thats much more useful and interesting, called Plus! The scope of 4.5 is really about skinning, but if you're aren't using Plus! yet and use Messenger, give it a go. Its PC only. I think I have an 8 beta running, but I see 9 listed as a version of Messenger. Anyone have a link to that?
