This is weird, but ever since installing the iPhone SDK (which required a restart), when I encounter Flash in FF or S, I get the beachball of death. I'm not saying the two are related, or wait... perhaps they are. Because after that restart & doing nothing else, this is happening pretty consistently (YouTube, ESPN, etc.) UPDATE: Flash seems to hang the page its in (can't tab around). If I open two window instances, the one instance without Flash running in a page or tab seems fine.

“Eric, sorry to hear about your problems, but anecdotally I haven't had any Flash issues after installing the SDK. Perhaps try reinstalling the Flash plugin?”

“Eric, just saw this article...perhaps this is the more likely vector for your woes:

“I haven't had the Flash problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has managed to deploy an app to the device?

I've successfully set up the iPhone SDK and can build and deploy to the Aspen emulator. However, when trying to start X-Code with my iTouch attached X-Code crashes. If X-Code is already running when I plug in my iTouch it crashes when I switch back to it.

I'm a complete Apple noob so it's very possible I've done something dumb...”

“john,

you have to pay the $99 to be able to remote debug on your iPhone or Touch.”

“Thanks for the info - makes sense.

I had tried to sign up. They gave me a reference number and said that they'd contact me with status via email. I haven't heard anything since. I hope this doesn't mean that they're full up already and I missed the window of opportunity.

It would of course be nicer if XCode said "you can't do that" rather than bombed out ;-)

BTW, did you successfully pay your $99?”
